How To Get Cheap Books: My Most Recent Thrifted Book Haul

Being a bookworm is great until you realize that you’re spending hundreds of dollars every year on new books, maybe even over a thousand depending on your book-buying habits. Brand new books are just so expensive, costing around $25-$35. To help save some money, I’ve been going thrift shopping at Value Village and it has now become one of my favourite places to go to for book shopping.

If you’ve read my previous post, you know that I had pretty good shelf-control in April and only bought 1 new book. So I think I am now due for a trip to the thrift store! I really enjoy book shopping in thrift stores because it’s like a treasure hunt. You never really know what books you might find. 

Value Village has a plethora of books to choose from and also a variety of genres. Plus, they have a  buy 4 get the 5th free book deal which is honestly pretty sweet. Their books are priced between $1.99 – $5.99. It can’t get any cheaper than that!

For this haul, I bought 6 books for a grand total of $30! Let’s take a look at what I got.

1. PEOPLE WE MEET ON VACATION, BY EMILY HENRY

4. AMERICAN DIRT, BY JEANINE CUMMINS

5. MRS. EVERYTHING, BY JENNIFER WEINER

6. THE SILENT PATIENT, BY ALEX MICHAELIDES
